Thank You for a Great Opening Weekend!

We wanted to extend a big thanks to everybody who came out over the last few days and helped make Hayward Golf Club’s opening weekend a success!  We are looking forward to continuing to offer a high quality and safe golf experience!

We also want to let everybody know that our Membership Referral promotion has been extended through May 15th.  If you speak to a friend or neighbor, who was not already a member last year (2019), and that person then becomes a member at your referral, we’re prepared to offer you a credit that can be applied towards the purchase of your 2020 membership or, if you’ve already purchased your 2020 membership, general course credit usable in any department (Pro Shop or Caddyshak Bar & Grill). We’re offering three credit tiers:

• $75 for referral resulting in a Couple or Family Membership
• $50 for referral resulting in a Single Membership
• $35 for referral resulting in a Twilight Membership

There are no limitations on the number of referrals you can send our way! Again, this promotion will be in effect through May 15th, 2020. If you have any questions, contact the Pro Shop at (715) 634-2760 or proshop@haywardgolf.com.

We’re also continuing to offer a new Vokey SM8 wedge promotion!

Also, a reminder that the Caddyshak Bar and Grill is offering take-out!  Full menu (which you can find HERE) will be available 11 am to 7 pm, 7 days a week.  We’re also offering a special to kick-off our opening. Order any of our new fresh made pizzas or spend $20 or more, and get a free 2 liter bottle of an assorted Coke product. While supplies last. Call 715-634-2460 for your order and payment. Credit and debit cards only.

Finally, here’s a peek at what the new normal for settling up golfing debts might look like!

Course Opening on Friday, April 24th!

With the extension of Wisconsin’s “Safer at Home” order, golf courses in the state are now permitted to begin operating — with some restrictions — as of Friday, April 24th!

Per the governor’s order and guidance from various golf industry leaders, here are the new policies:

•    All golf will be walking only.  No golf carts will be allowed.
•    Members and Guests welcome.
•    Please adhere to all social distancing guidelines while on the grounds of Hayward Golf Club.
•    The practice facility/ driving range across the parking lot will be closed.
•    Tee times can be reserved by calling pro shop or making reservations online.
•    Online reservations will require immediate payment, so we encourage groups to know exactly who and how many will be playing in group.  Tee times can be booked HERE.  The Pro Shop will take 1 credit card payment from each group paying over the phone. So please plan ahead with 1 designated payer for the group.
•    The clubhouse/Pro Shop will be closed to the public.  The clubhouse main entrance will be open for access only to the bathrooms, which will be cleaned and sanitized regularly.
•    We are preparing to offer a vending machine with a variety beverages near the club storage room. The vending machine will be sanitized throughout the day.
•    Tee times will be spaced 10 minutes apart to avoid groups potentially stacking up on the course.
•    Please arrive at golf course no more than 20 minutes ahead of your specific tee time. During busy periods, we will look to create a spaced flow of no more than 3 groups near the clubhouse at one time.  The 1st group will be on the tee preparing to tee-off, the 2nd group will be near the Pro Shop/ practice green checking-in, and the 3rd group will be unloading their clubs in the parking lot.
•    If needed, scorecards/pencils can be picked up near clubhouse.
•    Push-carts will be offered for rent and will be sanitized after each use. Rental clubs will not be available.
•    Essential golf merchandise (gloves, balls, tees) can be purchased over the phone during check in and picked up outside Pro Shop.
•    Once on the course, please leave the flagsticks in at all times. There will be a PVC insert in the hole that will keep golf balls from falling to the bottom of the hole and will assist us in eliminating the flag as a touch point. Additionally, bunker rakes, ball washers, and water coolers will be removed from the course.
•    We encourage players to download the wsga.org handicap posting app or post scores directly on WSGA website because the clubhouse will not be open for score posting. Call the Pro Shop if you need help with this process.

Special information for members and prospective members:

Given the mandate to keep the Pro Shop closed, we’re asking all those who intend to purchase memberships to do so through our online store (clicking HERE will take you there), over the phone, or through mailed-in membership forms and payment.  If members would like to make half-payments, those would have to be done over the phone or through mail.

Members are encouraged to call the Pro Shop for tee times if they are unsure of exactly who will all be playing in their group (to avoid being charged guest fees for perspective spots being filled by members).

We also encourage members to set-up accounts receivable accounts (A/R) to further ease transactions during this period (monthly billing available).  Call Pro Shop for details.

To book a tee time, click HERE to be taken to our online tee sheet, or call the Pro Shop at (715) 634-2760.

The Caddyshak Bar and Grill will be open to serve carry-out food that is consumed off premises.  Full menu will be available 11 am to 7 pm, 7 days a week, starting Wednesday, April 22nd. View our menu HERE. We are offering a special to kick off our opening — order any of our new fresh-made pizzas, or spend $20 or more, and get a free 2-liter bottle of an assorted Coke product. While supplies last. Call 715-634-2460 for your order and payment. Credit and debit cards only.

Members and guests, please follow all course guidelines to ensure we will continue to be able to offer golf in this capacity!

Things are going to be a little different for a while, but we’re very glad to be able to provide an opportunity for guests and members to enjoy some rounds of golf in the warming spring weather!  Hopefully, sooner rather than later, we will be fully operational and able to offer you the complete HGC experience!

New Caddyshak Menu / Course Update

We want to congratulate Lori DeJoode for winning our pre-season membership drive prize, and also remind everyone that our Online Store is set-up to purchase memberships of various configurations.  Click HERE to take a look.

In terms of updates about the course, we are continuing to get the facility ready for the go-ahead to open for play. Extensive maintenance of the grounds and clubhouse building has been underway.

When the Wisconsin state government determines that golf courses can open for business, we will be ready and enthusiastic about providing a safe experience guided by input from industry leaders and health professionals. We’ll give as much lead time as we possibly can.

In the meantime, we’ve also been hard at work calibrating a new menu for the Caddyshak Bar & Grill (see hours HERE), which we are excited to debut right here!

We’re also offering a new Vokey SM8 wedge promotion!

In addition to our emails and website posts, please follow the HGC and Caddyshak Facebook pages for updates, and also check out the Caddyshak’s new Instagram page.

Memberships Now Available Through Our Online Store

With the Hayward Golf Club Pro Shop temporarily closed (see our previous statement about that HERE), we wanted to make all our prospective members aware that — for the first time — memberships are now available to be purchased directly through our online store. This will allow you to make a purchase without having to show up in-person at the Pro Shop.

Clicking HERE will take you to our store, where you will find a variety of membership options for golf, carts, and driving range!  We look forward to being able to see you in person sooner rather than later, but until then, explore what our store has to offer!

Also, all early pay members (from Jan 1st through April 15th, 2020) are eligible to win a prize with a $375 value! 1 winner will be drawn.  The prize package includes 4 guest passes for 9 or 18-hole green fees, a $50 Caddyshak gift card, and a brand new 2020 Titleist SM8 Vokey Wedge or Callaway MD5 Jaws wedge (1 total wedge given out). Think of this as the HGC Stimulus Plan!

COVID-19 and Course Update

Hayward Golf Club Patrons,

We hope this update finds both you and your family safe and healthy in this uncertain time. The past few weeks have certainly been surreal and unprecedented, and have showcased numerous instances of heroism and community-first attitudes within our neighborhood and the country as a whole. We pray this illness will pass quickly and that lives will be spared. The Corona Virus pandemic has provided an unrivaled attack on our collective health, safety, and livelihood, but we as Americans will come together to defeat this faceless enemy and move forward stronger!

Now to our shared passion….GOLF. We at Hayward Golf Club have been fairly silent recently as we have watched world events, and felt uncomfortable promoting golf with current challenges existing and with snow still covering the golf course. However, with seasonably warm temperatures arriving in the Hayward area and snow dissipating, we wanted to update players regarding our operational position.

We are currently preparing the course to be open like any other year and are anticipating a helping hand from Mother Nature in 2020. As many of you may already know, the current “Safer at Home” initiative that was issued in Wisconsin this past week considered golf courses non-essential businesses and closed them until possibly April 24th. If this were to remain true, we would support the measure and merely prepare the golf course for the best April 24th opening we could possibly have. Actually, in some years this would be an early opener!

Nevertheless, there is a movement/petition among Wisconsin golf course owners, associations, Wisconsin PGA section officers, Wisconsin State Golf Association, and numerous managers and golfers to open golf courses in Wisconsin with safety measures in place. The staff and board at HGC have already met and discussed the implementation of safe and sanitary practices that would protect all our valued patrons. These measures follow many great examples from other courses in operation in the 13 states where “Safer at Home” orders are in place and golf courses have been allowed to stay open (such as Ohio, Illinois, Nevada, California, Kentucky). If you feel strongly about allowing golf courses in Wisconsin to operate safely and provide a healthy recreational option during this unprecedented shut down please follow the link below!

LINK HERE

We at Hayward Golf Club wish you all the best and hope to see you all at the course as soon as we safely can serve you! In the meantime, try not to tear up your yards too much with divots while practicing your short game!

Sneak Preview of New Caddyshak Menu

Last week, we held a tasting event in the Caddyshak Bar & Grill as a means to help narrow down some of the options we’re looking to include on our new 2020 menu. Big thanks to everyone who assisted in trying some of the potential new menu items! And speaking of those new dishes, a sneak peek of a couple of them can be seen below!

Final touches are being made to calibrate our updated menu to expand the variety of offerings. The reveal of the new menu will coincide with the opening of the golf course. Stay tuned to our emails and the website for its full debut in the coming weeks.
