Membership Info & Caddyshak Updates/Preview

We wanted to again draw your attention to our Membership Referral Promotion. Full details are available HERE, but to recap: if you’re a current or soon-to-be member who refers a new 2020 member (somebody who was not a member at HGC in 2019), we’re offering you a credit towards your 2020 membership or (if you’ve already paid for your 2020 membership) general course credit that can be used both in the Pro Shop and in the Caddyshak Bar & Grill. Credit amounts range from $35 to $75 depending on what membership tier your referral signs up for!

Membership application forms can be found HERE.

Also, we want to briefly preview a few changes and upcoming goings-on in the Caddyshak Bar & Grill. First, we’re in the midst of prepping an upgrade to our menu; full details will be revealed once everything is finalized, but we can currently announce that it will include made-from-scratch pizza!

There will also be brand-new furniture out on our patio, and once the weather really warms up, be on the lookout for photos of the new outdoor seating!

Finally, we’re in the planning stages for several key bar and dining events that will take place during the early section of the season. Details are still being pinned down, but expect information about these to be rolled-out over the course of the next month or two.

We’re eagerly anticipating getting back into the swing of things around here, and we hope you are too!

Membership Referral Promotion

At Hayward Golf Club, we value our membership not just for their support and patronage, but also because of the invaluable — and, often, intangible — service they can provide as ambassadors for the golfing experience at HGC. Spreading the word and building interest, both in the local community and across the country at their various winter retreats, has surely contributed to keeping HGC a robust destination for golfers.

As such, we want to offer a bit of a promotion/incentive for our members. If you speak to a friend or neighbor, who was not already a member last year (2019), and that person then becomes a member at your referral, we’re prepared to offer you a credit that can be applied towards the purchase of your 2020 membership or, if you’ve already purchased your 2020 membership, general course credit usable in any department (Pro Shop or Caddyshak Bar & Grill). We’re offering three credit tiers:

• $75 for referral resulting in a Couple or Family Membership
• $50 for referral resulting in a Single Membership
• $35 for referral resulting in a Twilight Membership

There are no limitations on the number of referrals you can send our way! This promotion will be in effect until May 1st, 2020. If you have any questions, contact the Pro Shop at (715) 634-2760 or proshop@haywardgolf.com.

Speaking of that, just as a matter of housekeeping, we’ve got a new, official email specifically for people to contact us: proshop@haywardgolf.com. So update your contacts accordingly! You may continue to receive emails from the info@haywardgolf.com address, but we ask you switch over to the new proshop address to communicate directly with us.

We also wanted to take the opportunity to congratulate the winners of our recent Super Bowl Board campaign!

• 1st Quarter — Linda Lundberg ($150)
• 1st Quarter Reverse — Dennis Ruid ($100)
• 2nd and 3rd Quarter and Reverse — Ron Siemers ($500)
• Final Score — Tom Sobczak ($400)
• Final Score Reverse — Tom Harrington ($100)

Finally, thanks to all who showed up in support of our Cornhole World Championship! We had 20 teams participate, and fun was had by all!

Plus, fun games throughout the season. In 2019, the league had a total of 41 Birdies, and the top Birdie girl (with 8 total) was Cindy Ross.

Our Club Champion this year was Karen Giese. Karen had a hole in one on the last day of the championship. Congrats Karen!!

Super Bowl Square Board & Cornhole World Championship

As we did last year, we’re once again offering a Super Bowl Square Board in the Pro Shop; this year’s proceeds will go directly towards our major 2020 course improvement project — the installation of a new irrigation system (more details on that can be found HERE).

The board has 100 squares, and each square costs $25. Each square is associated with a set of secret numbers (to be revealed later), and if your numbers correspond to the score of the game at the end of each of the four quarters, you win!

Additional details are as follows:

• You can purchase up to 4 squares or $100 worth.
• Payout will be $250 a quarter ($150 for exact numbers and $100 for reverse numbers for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters)
• Final score will pay out $500 ($400 for exact numbers and $100 for reverse numbers)
• We will release board numbers as soon as we are full!
• Total payout is $1250.

The remaining amount raised amount will go towards the Course Improvement Fund for the irrigation system.

Also, for a little added excitement, email info@haywardgolf.com with your pick for the winning team and the winning score of the game, and the guess closest to the real final score will win one Golf & Dining Package (18-holes plus cart and a breakfast/lunch meal). Value of $70+!  In the case of a tie, we will employ a random draw.

We’re also hosting Hayward’s Cornhole World Championship VII in the Caddyshak on Saturday, February 1st, starting at 12pm! Format:

• 2 person teams.
• Cost is $25 dollars per person and includes entry fee, pizza buffet ,and a chance at prize money.
• Format will be 3 games, first to 21.
• The top 16 teams by total points will advance to the playoffs. In the playoff there will be a competitive division and a social division allowing more chances at prize money.

Full bar will be available. To enter your team, or to get more information, text at 715-558-3535, or send an email to dmc.caddyshak@gmail.com.

Finally, just a reminder that our weekly cribbage league resumes this Wednesday (January 22nd) at 6pm in the Caddyshak. We hope to see you there!

Remember, all events in the Caddyshak Bar & Grill are open to the public!

Cyber Monday & Holiday Season Updates!

Happy Holidays from the staff at Hayward Golf Club! Even in the wintry off-season, there’s still activity we’d like to make you all aware of.

First, in honor of “Cyber Monday,” we’re offering our Golf & Dining Package for $60, which includes:

• One 18-hole round of golf with cart.  No restrictions.
• One lunch or breakfast entrĂ©e at the Caddyshak Bar & Grill.

This is a great gift option, and we’re extending its availability throughout the rest of December. But come January 1st, it will be gone! Click HERE for more info and to make a purchase through our online store!

We’re also continuing to offer a variety of gift cards that could make great stocking stuffers. $25, $50, and $100 configurations are available.

Second, we’re starting to book our special events calendar for the Caddyshak Bar & Grill in 2020. Whether you’re putting together wedding receptions, banquets, reunions, graduations, or any other group dining events, the Caddyshak is ready to accommodate parties of any size.

Call the Caddyshak at 715-634-2460 or Doug McGarthwaite at 715-558-3535 to book!

Finally, our Wednesday evening cribbage league is about to begin its season in the Caddyshak Bar. There will be two-person teams, with new partners drawn at random each week before the start of play. Cost per person is $11 per week.

Since Christmas Day and New Year’s Day both fall on Wednesdays, this is what the league schedule is currently looking like:

• December 4th — 6pm
• December 11th — 6pm
• December 18th — 6pm
• Then we’ll pick back up on January 8th at 6pm and run weekly (barring any unforeseen events) into early March.

If you know of anybody you think might be interested, but is outside the reach of our posts and emails, please feel free to let them know about this league. It is open to anybody. We look forward to seeing all our fellow cribbage fans!

We’re also going to be hosting an evening of cornhole play on Friday, the 6th of December. Doors open at 6pm.

This is an exciting and pivotal event every year, and we look forward to seeing what 2020’s field of players will bring to the table!

Course Improvement Campaign Update

We are extremely happy to report that we have passed our $25,000 fundraising goal for the 2019 season! We thank everybody for your support in this — we literally couldn’t have done it without you, and we are grateful!

Your contributions this year resulted in some significant improvement projects being completed:

• New tee box on Hole #13.
• Extension of the cart path on Hole #9.
• Full re-siding of the cart barn.
• Completion of the grill enclosure on the patio.

Looking ahead, 2020 is shaping up to be an active year for course improvements, big and small. We’ll be unveiling details after the New Year, so keep an eye out!

Finally, we want to let everybody know that the driving range will be open through Sunday, October 20th, and closed as of the 21st for the remainder of the year.

But if you’re not ready to pack it in for the winter just yet, the golf course itself will remain open for business through Halloween, October 31st. Assuming the weather cooperates, there’s still time to get a few more rounds in!
