TaylorMade Demo Day — Tuesday, May 28th

From 12:00pm to 5:00pm on Tuesday, the 28th of May, a rep from TaylorMade will be down on our driving range, ready, willing, and able to help you try out the latest equipment and see what works best for your game!

Spots will be available in 20-minute blocks, and reservations are recommended.

Also, the Lions Club Big Cup Golf Benefit on Friday, June 7th, still has some openings available. This is always a fun event here at HGC, and if you’re interested, see the flyer below for more details!

Finally, our next Couples League event will take place on Sunday, June 9th. Tee times will be available from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. It will be a 9-hole event, but couples are more than welcome to continue on after 9 if they so choose. Cost is $5 per couple for prizes.

Memorial Day Weekend Golf / Fish Fry — Friday, May 24th

Memorial Day is this coming Monday, and as the unofficial start of the summer golf season, it’s an excellent opportunity to head out onto the course. If you’re thinking about playing this holiday weekend, now would be great time to book a reservation.

“Roll Back the Clock” Fish Fry Night! — Friday, May 25th / Callaway Demo Day — Tuesday, May 21st

The Fish Fry is an important element of a Friday night in the Northwoods, particularly in the summertime. Last year, we brought our Fish Fry back on a periodic basis throughout the summer, and due to the positive response, we’re doing it again this season!

On Friday, May 24th, our “Roll Back the Clock” Fish Fry night will be back! The price will be $13.99 – all you can eat – and the menu will include:

– Broiled or Deep-Fried Pollock
– Coleslaw
– Baked Potato or Fresh-Cut French Fries
– Breadsticks

We will also be offering two walleye options: walleye cheeks for $15.99 and walleye fillets for $23.99. Both will come with the same sides as the regular menu, but these will not be all you can eat, however. We will be serving from 5:00pm to 9:00pm in the Caddyshak Bar & Grill.

While this is not a return to a weekly Fish Fry, we do plan to do several of these as the year progresses. Keep an eye out on Facebook and through email for future dates!

Callaway Demo Day — Tuesday, May 21st

We are once again excited to host a demo day for Callaway on Tuesday, May 21st. From 12:00pm to 5:00pm, a Callaway rep will be set up on our driving range, ready to help you try out a variety of the latest equipment.

Callaway is still offering their “Trade-In Trade Up!” promotion, available only on the Demo Day. Receive 150% trade-in value towards the purchase of Callaway products!

We are encouraging folks who are interested to sign up for reserved appointments in the Pro Shop. Slots are available in 20-minute increments.

Also, our Junior Golf Program is just around the corner. The clinic is designed to give juniors (ages 6 to 14) the chance to experience all aspects of the game. It will run on Fridays from June 14th through July 19th, from 8:00am to 10:00am. The cost of the program is $50, and if you are interested in signing your junior up for it, stop into the Pro Shop to fill out an entry form. Or you can print out the entry form HERE and simply drop it off in the Pro Shop, as well.

In addition, each registered junior (if they are not already a member at Hayward Golf Club) will receive a voucher good for one round of golf on our PGA Family Course, valid after 5pm and subject to tee time availability.

Finally, here’s a quick update on the status of some of the facility improvement projects that will be ongoing this season: the cart barn, which has seen a few decades of wear and tear, is in the process of being resided. Here are a couple photos of the progress!

Our Spring Kick-Off Dinner on Saturday, May 4th (full details HERE), is shaping to be an outstanding evening of great food, music, and prizes (including wine, dining, lodging, concert tickets, and other assorted fantastic gift packages!).

Golf Course Opening on Saturday, Driving Range on Friday

After a long winter and a stunted spring, the time has finally come — we have some opening day projections to share!  First, a brief word from our Pro, Ben Kanters…

Assuming the weather plays its part and unfolds as forecast, this is how things are shaping up:

Driving Range – Opening on Friday, April 19th
Golf Course – Opening on Saturday, April 20th

The Caddyshak Bar & Grill will be open for lunch on Friday, and breakfast & lunch on both Saturday and Sunday. Sunday, particularly, would be a great time to stop in and celebrate the Easter holiday with your family! The Caddyshak will then observe normal operating hours beginning next week.
