“Roll Back the Clock” Fish Fry Night! – Friday, May 25th

As most of you are probably aware, the Friday Night Fish Fry is a staple of dining life in the Northwoods. It’s basically a cultural tradition up here. For many years, Hayward Golf Club offered a weekly Fish Fry, but with so many establishments in the area providing great offerings, several years ago we made the decision to put our Fish Fry on ice… until now!

On Friday, May 25th, we’re bringing the Fish Fry back for an exclusive, “Roll Back the Clock” night! The price will be $13.99 – all you can eat – and the menu will be:

– Broiled or Deep-Fried Pollock
– “Secret Recipe” Oriental Coleslaw
– Baked Potato or Fresh-Cut French Fries
– Breadsticks

We’re also going to be offering a deep-fried walleye version of this meal for $23.99, but the walleye will not be all you can eat. We will be serving from 5:00pm – 9:00pm.

Also, while we’re treating this as a special, “One Night Only” engagement, and not a return of the weekly Fish Fry, it could possibly pave the way for more down the road depending on the response!

Mother’s Day Brunch Special – Sunday, May 13th

To celebrate Mother’s Day, on this Sunday, May 13th, we’re offering a brunch special in the Caddyshak Bar & Grill, featuring a variety of your breakfast favorites. Available from from 7:00am to 1:00pm.

Trivia Night Dinner: Saturday, May 12th – Sign Up Now Open!

Now that the season is finally underway, we are excited to announce Hayward Golf Club’s second annual Trivia Night Dinner! It was a great event last year, and we’re confident this year’s version will provide another terrific night. A $30 per person entry fee will cover dinner, tax, tip, and a variety of fantastic prizes that will be won during the trivia rounds. Open to members, their guests, and the general public.

Hosted in the Caddyshak Bar & Grill, the Trivia Night Dinner will begin at 6:00pm on Saturday, May 12th, with a menu consisting of:

– Your choice of 10 oz. Walleye or 10 oz. Ribeye
– Garlic Mashed Potatoes
– Homemade Coleslaw
– Breadstick
– Dessert Bar

Whether you’re a serious trivia competitor, looking to laugh from the sidelines, or just want to eat and drink, there’s a place for you!

Opening Weekend Is Here!

After a protracted winter season, the golf course is finally ready to roll out the red carpet this weekend!

The driving range will open tomorrow – Friday, April 27th. The golf course itself will be open for public play (walking only) starting Saturday, April 28th. We are hoping to be ready for cart usage on Monday or Tuesday. The Caddyshak Bar & Grill will be open for breakfast and lunch 8:00am – 3:00pm on Friday and Saturday, and 7:00am – 3:00pm on Sunday.

Caddyshak Bar & Grill – Opening for the Season on Friday, April 20th!

To kick off the spring season, we’re officially opening the Caddyshak Bar and Grill on Friday, April 20th. The full menu, including breakfast, will be in effect, and we’re offering a Welcome Back Special: $2.99 burger and fries with purchase of a drink, while supplies last!

Come on out and help us usher in some warmer weather… hopefully!

From the 20th on, the Caddyshak will serve breakfast on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings, and will serve lunch seven days a week. We hope to see you soon!

In terms of the golf course, obviously the weather hasn’t cooperated in the way we might have liked, but we’re still holding out hope for some late April golf.

In the mean time, the Pro Shop is open on weekdays, so you can stop in to sign up for leagues, pay for memberships, or just shoot the breeze!

Upcoming Excitement!

As the Winter season (hopefully!) starts to wind down, we are still keeping busy in the Caddyshak Bar & Grill with our Thursday cribbage league. We will continue to host the league on the 8th and the 15th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, and we will culminate the league season with a Grand Finale on Thursday, the 22nd, at 6:00pm. The format will be the same (two-person teams picked by a random draw), with prize money for the top teams and high hand. We are looking for a big group for this finale, and we are also asking for those interested to sign up, either at the regular league days on the 8th and 15th, or by responding via email at info@haywardgolf.com.

We are also excited to announce our 1st Annual St. Patrick’s Day Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, March 17th!

Registration at 12:30 matches start at 1:00 pm.

Format: 2 person teams. Space is limited to the first 24 teams.  Blind draw preliminary rounds followed by playoff and championship rounds.

Cost $ 20 dollars per player. Entry includes minimum of 3 games, snacks, and a chance at prize money. Full Cash bar will be available. Team names, uniforms and spectators are encouraged.

This event is open to the general public!
