Thanks for a Great 2022 Season!

As we enter the final days of our season, we wanted to make sure to thank everybody — our Passholders and our guests — for making 2022 another big success here at Hayward Golf Club!

It was a terrific year, and we hope all of you enjoyed your time with us, whether you played our course just once… or whether you’re one of the die-hards who got 100 rounds in! We look forward to seeing everyone back in 2023!

Finally, we wanted to congratulate the winners of the Ryder Cup event held last weekend!  Team McCusker defeated Team Byrd (25 points to 19 points) on an unseasonably beautiful afternoon!

Mitch and Emilee will draft teams and create pairings once the field size is set. Contact the Pro Shop for more information or to sign up! The event will take place weather-permitting, and it looks very promising so far!

Off-Season Golf Simulator

Just because our season at Hayward Golf Club ends on October 31st doesn’t mean you can’t keep the golfing spirit alive in the off-season! Hayward Golf Sim, powered by Trackman, is ready to make sure you can get in some virtual rounds over the winter!  Winter league opportunities will be available, as well.

Additionally, Golf Pro Mitch Byrd and Assistant Golf Pro Emilee McCusker will be available throughout much of the off-season for lessons, which would take place at the Hayward Golf Sim facility.  So if your game is in need of assistance even during the colder months, they’re ready to help!

Mark Your Calendars! 2023 Hayward Open Sign-Up Starts On Halloween!

The long-running Hayward Golf Club tradition will continue next year! The Hayward Open Tournament returns again on the weekend of Saturday, June 3rd and Sunday, June 4th in 2023, and we have the first details ready to share with you.

As usual, this will be a 45-hole event. There is an 18-hole stroke play qualifying round on Saturday, followed by 27 holes on Sunday, with your Saturday score determining if you are in the stroke play or match play brackets. There will be an optional practice round with a giant skins game on Friday, June 2nd.

The sign-up period for the Open will begin on Halloween — Monday, October 31st, 2022 — at 8:00am central time. Sign-ups will be accepted via email (proshop@haywardgolf.com) or phone call (715-634-2760) at that time. We cap the size of the field at 160, and the spots will go fast!

This is easily one of our most exciting and storied events here at HGC, and we expect that the 2023 edition will add another important chapter to the legacy. Congratulations again to our 2022 Champion, Matt Mellin, who notched the win in dramatic fashion, as well as our Senior Champion, Gary Swanson! Here are some brief highlights of this year’s tournament…
