Summer Classic REMINDER — July 17th

We wanted to remind everyone that our Summer Classic event is coming up fast on July 17th! It’s been filling up quickly, but a few spots still remain, so if you’re at all considering participating, now is the time to sign up with the Pro Shop!

To refresh everybody, here’s the format:

Teams of 2 will compete in flights over the course of 27 holes and 3 different formats (Scramble, Best Ball, Alternate Shot) to determine a champion. The course will be set-up in a unique way to provide the most fun event possible.

Event Cost
• $60 for Passholders
• $100 for Non-Passholders
• Includes Golf, Cart, Prizes, Trophies, and Post-Round Meal. Walking pricing also available.

Tee Times: 8:32am – 12:24pm on Sunday, July 17th.

First 120 players. SKINS GAME will be available. Sign-up as a twosome or as a foursome. Open to men and women.

Come Celebrate the 4th of July with Us!

A reminder for everyone that the Hayward Civic Club’s Annual 4th of July Picnic and Fireworks display is coming around the corner fast! It’s a decades-long tradition in the Hayward area.

The pre-sundown festivities will include food vendors, kids games, music, and baseball games in the area between the Hayward Primary School and Hayward Golf Club. The fireworks show will commence at nightfall, roughly in the 10:00pm area. This is one of the most fun evenings of the entire summer, and we hope you’ll come out and join us to celebrate!

And if you really want to make the 4th an action-packed day, now would be a great opportunity to book a tee time for a round of golf earlier in the day! Times can be booked by calling the Pro Shop at (715) 634-2760, or online HERE.

Now open from 11am to 4pm, seven days a week, the Caddyshak is back for 2022 with an updated menu. With a variety of burgers, sandwiches, fresh-made pizzas, salads, and more, the Caddyshak is a great place to sit down for meal before a round of golf, after a round of golf, or if you’re not golfing at all! The Caddyshak is open to all!

2022 Northwoods Match Play Challenge and NEW Women’s Northwoods Match Play

The sign-up period has now commenced for the 2022 installment of the Northwoods Match Play Challenge! This will be the 10th year of the event, and we’re particularly excited to open up the field by including a Women’s bracket!

Here are the key details:

• Use of Handicaps — Any ability level welcome!
• Single Elimination format.
• Open to the public and to Passholders.
• Cash payout progressively increasing round by round.
• Schedule matches with your opponents at your convenience.
• Entry Fee: $25

We’re capping the size of the field at 32 for Women, 64 for Men, and we expect to fill up quickly, so if you’re interested in signing-up, call the Pro Shop at (715) 634-2760.

Here’s last year’s champion, Chris Coons, hoisting the Jim Place Memorial Trophy, named in honor of the late former champ.

Father’s Day Golf at HGC!

Father’s Day falls on June 19th this year, and it would be a great time to treat Dad to a round of golf! Tee times are currently available at HGC, and can be made by calling the Pro Shop (715-634-2760) or by booking through our ONLINE TEE SHEET!

July 4th Community Picnic and Fireworks!

Dear All Hayward Community Supporters,

Now that summer is fast upon us, in a blink of the eye, we will be donning our red, white, and blue and getting ready with family, friends, and our businesses to celebrate our Independence on July 4th.

For decades now, the Hayward Civic Club has sponsored the Community Picnic and Fireworks on July 4th, which has been enjoyed by generations of locals and tourists in our area (I know, I was one of those kids oohing and aahing back in the 60’s!). Once again, the Hayward Civic Club Community Picnic and Fireworks will include food vendors, kid’s games, music, baseball games, and our Grand Finale, a SUPER fireworks show at 10pm. If you are able, the Hayward Civic Club is accepting any donations to help cover some of the $10,000+ expenses associated with the July 4th celebration. You may do this by sending a check to Hayward Civic Club, PO Box 1079, Hayward, WI 54843, or you can call (715) 634-2760 or stop by the Hayward Golf Club Pro Shop and make your donation by credit card. Every penny collected will be used for the event.

TaylorMade Fitting Day — June 30th

Our second Fitting Day of the season is coming your way on Thursday, June 30th. From 12:00pm to 5:00pm, a TaylorMade representative will be located on our practice facility, ready, willing, and able to assist you in trying out a variety of new equipment! New TaylorMade staffer, Golf Professional Mitch Byrd, will also be on-hand to consult!

U.S. Open Tournament and Pool

In conjunction with this year’s U.S. Open, we’re holding an event to allow you to get more directly into the action!

If you’re interested in signing-up, contact the Pro Shop!

Also, as we normally do when majors roll around, we’re putting together a U.S. Open Pool.

• Pick any four golfers in the field.
• Best three golfers’ scores will be used.
• Pick winner’s score (+/- to par) for tie-breaking purposes.
• $10 entry.

Picks can be made by stopping in the Pro Shop, emailing picks to the Pro Shop (proshop@haywardgolf.com), or emailing picks to Rob Frenchick (robfrenchick@gmail.com).

Picks must be in by the evening of Wednesday, June 15th.
