Last-Minute Availability For Hayward Open

If anybody out there is itching to play some tournament golf this weekend, you just might be in luck. Our Hayward Open tournament on Saturday and Sunday has had a few slots open up at the last minute, leaving it currently short of a full field.  This is the signature event of our season, and it’s always an exciting weekend of golf here at HGC.

The tournament entry fee is $100, and some additional details on the format — including the new Senior Flights — can be found HERE.

Twilight Golf Offerings at Hayward Golf Club

Twilight can be a great time to get some rounds in at HGC! Not only is it one of the most scenic parts of the day as the sun starts to set, but it also affords golfers the chance to take advantage of reduced green fees!

Our standard Twilight rates start at 3:00pm every day.

• 9-Holes (walking): $20.99
• 9-Holes (riding): $29.99
• 18-Holes (walking): $26.99
• 18-Holes (riding): $41.99

Additionally, Super Twilight specials are available on Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday after 4:30pm throughout summer!

And for the golfer who plays frequently, we have our Twilight Season Pass, which includes the following:

Author Kerry Casey Returns to HGC on June 15th

On June 15th, Kerry Casey, author of “The Wager,” returns to Hayward Golf Club for an Author’s Night, sponsored by the Hayward Library Foundation. “The Wager” contains a number of scenes that take place right here at HGC, as well as in and around the Hayward area.

This event will be a great opportunity to enjoy some food and drink, and to ask Kerry questions about the novel and the writing process! The book costs $20, with $10 going to the Library Foundation. See additional details below!

REMINDER: Junior Program Begins June 9th

We wanted to remind everyone that HGC’s Junior Golf Clinic kicks off on Thursday, June 9th!

The program is designed to give juniors the opportunity to learn about every aspect of the game, and will include multiple separate playing stations: putting, chipping, pitching, and full swing. Additionally, our experienced teaching staff provides a golf course knowledge station and mini par 3 course.

• Program runs every Thursday afternoon between 1-3pm from June 9th to July 21st (skipping June 30th).
• Aimed at ages 6 to 14.
• Program will culminate with our Junior Championship.
• Cost is $50 per child (which includes prizes and gift for all participants).
• Clubs will be provided for children who don’t have any.

Young golfers can be registered in the Pro Shop, or by calling (715) 634-2760.

Also, we can finally announce that the Caddyshak will be open for lunch starting on June 1st from 11am to 4pm daily! The updated menu will be available on our website shortly!

Upcoming Events at Hayward Golf Club!

As we move through the end of May into early June, things are really ramping up around here, so we wanted to make sure to draw your attention to some of the events and activities that are coming your way!

New HGC Wednesday Night Ladies League

A new, fun, social ladies league is about to launch on Wednesday, June 1st, at 5pm! Overseen by our First Assistant Pro, Emilee McCusker. Full details can be found HERE!

Interclub Events

For any of our Passholders, we would appreciate it if you would consider being part of the groups representing HGC at any of the various Interclub competitions happening over the summer!

The first of these is the Women’s Interclub here at HGC on June 6th, with the first Men’s Interclub happening at Turtleback on June 8th.

Tee times for each event start at 12:00pm. Entry is $50, which includes:

• 18-holes with Cart
• Food
• Prizes

Each team is comprised of eight golfers, and it’s first come, first served, so if you’re interested — and are available on any of the dates — let us know!

Callaway Fitting Day

On June 7th, a Callaway fitting specialist will be on hand at our practice facility, giving you the ability to try out the latest equipment! It will run from 12:00pm to 5:00pm, with sessions available in 30-minute slots.

Reservations are required, so call the Pro Shop at (715) 634-2760 to book a slot!

Lions Club Benefit

The Lions continue their long, annual tradition of holding a “Big Cup” golf benefit here at HGC! It’s happening on June 10th, and pertinent details are as follows:

PGA Championship Pool Reminder — Get Entries in by Tonight!

A reminder that the cutoff for entry in our PGA Championship Pool is this evening!

• Pick any four golfers in the field.
• Best three golfers’ scores will be used.
• Pick winner’s score (+/- to par) for tie-breaking purposes.
• $10 entry.

Entries need to be received in the Pro Shop by TONIGHT, Wednesday, May 18th. Entries can be submitted via email (proshop@haywardgolf.com or robfrenchick@gmail.com), phone (715-634-2760), or in-person at the Pro Shop.

REMINDER: Couples Events Starting Sunday!

Just a reminder for everyone that we’re kicking off our series of couples events this Sunday, May 22nd. This Sunday’s event is starting to rapidly fill up, but there are a few slots still open, so if you’re interesting playing some fun, casual golf with other couples, sign-up with the Pro Shop today!

Here is the current schedule for the season:

• May 22nd — Two Person Scramble
• June 12th — Fairways, Greens, and Putts
• June 26th — Hole Mix-up (Back Nine)
• July 10th — Luck of the Draw
• July 24th — Couples Club Championship (18 holes, 12:00pm start)
• July 31st — Hole Mix-up (Front Nine)
• August 21st — Poker Hand Golf

Suggestions for other competition formats are encouraged! The goal for these events is to have formats where all golfers have a chance to win, regardless of ability level. Guests are welcome.

Entry is $5 per couple for prizes. Tee times start at 1:00pm.

Callaway Fitting Day — June 7th

When summer rolls around, that usually means that fitting days are coming soon, and that’s certainly the case this year. Fitting days give golfers the chance to check out the latest equipment in consultation with a Callaway fitting specialist.  Assistant Pro Emilee McCusker, who is on staff with Callaway, will also be on-hand to assist.

The first one on our calendar this season is Callaway on Tuesday, June 7th. It will run from 12:00pm to 5:00pm, with sessions available in 30-minute slots.

Reservations are required, so call the Pro Shop at (715) 634-2760 to book a slot! Keep an eye out for information on further fitting days as we head later into the season.

Also, we wanted to let folks know that we’re running a PGA Championship Pool in conjunction with the tournament next week! Here’s how it works:

The Caddyshak is offering a build-your-own taco bar for our Women’s and Men’s golf leagues this week!

Serving from 1:00pm – 8:00pm on Tuesday, and after league play on Wednesday.

NEW HGC Wednesday Night Ladies League!

What is it?
Fun! Casual! Social! This new league is open to all ladies interested in playing in an enjoyable, low-commitment, summer golf league. Open to all skill levels.

Play will be on Wednesday nights during the summer. Come when you can! No season-long league fee, just $5 to get in on the game for the evening, depending on game.
Twilight green fee required for non-passholders.

Wednesday, June 1st

Starting Time
Tee times starting at 5pm

Format
Format will vary from week to week. Individual and team games will be played throughout the season.
