Fitting Days Coming Soon — Callaway, Titleist, and TaylorMade!

As is our annual tradition here at Hayward Golf Club, we’re once again hosting a series of Fitting Days for our Membership and guests can try out some of the latest equipment from the leading companies in the field! In addition to some usual participants, Callaway and TaylorMade, this year we have Titleist for the first time in several years!

The schedule is as follows:

• June 9th — Callaway (1pm – 5pm)
• June 16th — Titleist (1pm – 5pm)
• June 19th — TaylorMade (12pm – 4pm)

Reservations for these Fitting Days are required, so contact the Pro Shop (715-634-2760) to book a slot!  You can also sign-up directly with Callaway at this link.

Also, just a reminder that the Caddyshak Bar & Grill is now serving breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays! 8am – 12pm. Lunch available daily from 11am – 4pm (and 3pm on Sundays). Full menus can be found HERE.

Additionally, we have a Tuesday Night Special! Tonight, the offerings are:

• 6 Honey Dip Wings with French Fries and choice of sauce — $9.00
• BBQ Brisket on a Bun with French Fries or Chips — $11.00

We also have to unfortunately announce that our Ladies Invite (previously scheduled for June 17th) has been cancelled. We look forward to bringing this event back with a vengeance next summer!

Finally, if you’re a Member who needs or wants access to our online Membership Directory, contact the Pro Shop! It has been updated as of May 26th, and will continue to be updated periodically as more memberships come in. It’s a handy tool for making contact with other Members at HGC.

Fundraiser — Guess How Long It Will Take To Fill The Pond!

If you’ve recently played our course, you’ve probably noticed the massive excavation taking place in the area of holes 12 and 13.  This is for the pond that will serve as the reservoir for our new double-row irrigation system.

To add a little extra excitement to the project, we’re holding a fundraiser for our On-Course Improvement Fund.  For a $10 entry, you can attempt to guess how long it will take to fill the pond with water, being specific down to number of days, hours, and minutes.

The 2.2 acre pond should begin being filled sometime next week, and it is expected to require approximately 6.1 million gallons of water.  The pipe supplying the water may be sporadically turned off to meet other irrigation needs.  Use that information to inform your guess!

You can purchase as many entries as you’d like, and if you buy 5, you’ll get a 6th for free!  We will be paying the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd closest guesses.  Contact the Pro Shop or stop in to sign up!

Starting May 31st, we’re implementing a new rate after 4pm on Sundays and Mondays.

Finally, the next Couples League outing will take place on Sunday, May 31st. Tee times available starting at 1pm. It’s a great opportunity for couples to get out there and enjoy a casual round in some (hopefully!) beautiful weather. Call the Pro Shop to sign up!

Junior Golf Program Cancelled / Pro Shop Open

Due to the uncertain state of things regarding gatherings of large groups, we’re disappointed to announce that we are going to be unable to run our Junior Golf Program this summer. We look forward to this every June, so we’ll certainly miss it this year. However, we have every confidence that the Program will be back in 2021 with renewed energy and excitement from all involved!

If your junior doesn’t like the prospect of skipping a year, there is availability for private lessons with either the Golf Pro or Assistant Pro. Contact the Pro Shop for additional information.

In better news, the Pro Shop can now officially be open to the public with a very limited capacity — 5 guests at one time. Golf Pro Ben Kanters gives a very brief overview of the Pro Shop’s offerings…

Even with the Pro Shop open, we’re still accepting check-in and payment over the phone for those who wish to make use of that option.

Also, Couples League begins play on Sunday, May 17th. Tee times starting at 1pm. Please call the Pro Shop to sign up.

Irrigation Update & Swing King Hole-in-One Membership

Those of you who have played our course recently will no doubt have noticed a quite substantial amount of earth being moved around in the vicinity of holes 12 and 13. This is the first major stage of our irrigation project, requiring the excavation of a new pond that will act as the reservoir for the double-row irrigation that will be installed this season.

Jerry Elbert, a member of our Board of Directors, gives a brief overview of this initial phase below, accompanied by some aerial footage of the excavation site!

Additionally, as many of you may remember from last year, we partnered with Swing King to offer a Hole-in-One contest one our third hole. Previously, this required a daily entry in order to participate. However, this year, we have the capability to offer a Swing King Membership, where each and every time you play, you’ll have a shot at a designated prize amount. Just like last year, any and all proceeds received by Hayward Golf Club through the offering of this package will go directly towards our on-course improvement fund.

Membership Tiers
Par — $100 for the chance to win $2,500.
Birdie — $150 for the chance to win $5,000.
Eagle — $300 for the chance to win $10,000.

Whether you play 5 rounds or 500 rounds this summer, you’ll have a chance to claim some winnings on the third hole! Contact the Pro Shop to sign-up.
