Greens Roller Board – The Final Countdown!

We’ve entered the exciting final stages of our greens roller fundraiser (full details HERE). With only 15 spots remaining to achieve our goal, the heat is on and the final countdown has begun!

Time is now of the essence, so if you have been considering helping the cause (and potentially winning a major payout of your own), now is the time to sign up and get your name on the board!

The actual selection of the winners during the Packers game on September 10th – following the Brian Clifford Memorial Golf Outing (details HERE if you’re interested in potentially playing) – should make for a terrific and fun day; we’re going to be hosting a gathering in the Caddyshak’s bar to watch the game and reveal the big prize winners.

We truly appreciate all the support we’ve received from both the membership and guests for this project, and we think the improved condition of our greens as a result of the new roller represents a significant upgrade for our facility, one which maintains Hayward Golf Club’s position as one of the best-maintained golf courses in northern Wisconsin.

Board of Directors Election Reminder

Lastly, we wanted to provide one more reminder about the upcoming election for our club’s Board of Directors. Members should have received a special email about this last week, but if you didn’t let us know! For those with any questions, call the Pro Shop at (715) 634-2760, or stop in to vote.

The election results with be finalized at the Annual Meeting on Monday, September 11th.

Ladies Interclub Results!

Congratulations to the Hayward Ladies Interclub team for winning the trophy back! Several ladies participated in the play each month with Dave Blake representing as golf pro.

The league consists of teams from Hayward, Spooner, Voyager Village, and Big Fish.

Fall Membership Promotion

As we have for the past three years, we’re excited to once again offer our Fall Membership Promotion.  The basic idea is, beginning September 1st, if a person – who has not been a member for the 2017 summer season – pays half of a 2018 membership, they will be extended membership privileges for the remainder of the 2017 fall season (through October 31st, the final day of the season).

This is a great opportunity for new prospective members to get a jump on next year and also take advantage of membership play in the fall.

If you have been considering taking the plunge and becoming a member at some point in the future, this is almost too good a chance to pass up!  Current members, if you know of any friends or neighbors who might be interested in joining the membership community, pass along this information!

The championship tournament concluded on August 9th after two rounds of play. With gross rounds of 80 and 89, the new Club Champion is Tali Johnson!

Congratulations Tali! Enjoy your dedicated parking spot! As good as black marker on masking tape looks, we’ll even see what we can do about getting a legit sign made up!

If you book a tee time for Wednesday, August 16th, and use our secret pass phrase when checking in, we will extend you our twilight golf rates, valid for any tee time – twilight or not – during the day!

Twilight 18-hole: $24
Twilight 18-hole with cart: $38
Twilight 9-hole: $22
Twilight 9-hole with cart: $30

The pass phrase is “TWILIGHT ZONE.”

Only golfers who use this phrase during their check-in will be extended this special offer! It will only be in effect for the duration of the day on the 16th. Members, tell your friends and guests about this offer so they can join you for a special round of golf!

Finally, in honor of our Men’s Club Championship weekend, we’re offering a breakfast special in the Caddyshak Bar & Grill next Sunday (the 20th) morning:

Even though the Championship will be in full swing on the course, the Caddyshak will be open for the public, so come on out for breakfast!

Men’s Club Championship and Roller Board Updates

Men’s Club Championship – August 19th and 20th

A reminder that the sign-up period for our Men’s Club Championship is still underway, with the event scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 19th and Sunday, August 20th (more details HERE).

Members, start talking with your friends about putting together groups for the Saturday round. We’re very excited about the event, and the new Senior division of the Club Championship, which will allow golfers ages 65 and over to play a tee box they are comfortable with, and play with golfers of similar ability levels. We’re also looking for a couple more members to participate in the Gold Division of the Championship, as well.

Cost per player is $40, which includes dinner on Saturday evening, prizes, trophy, and a special cash game!

Roller Board Update

As we approach a month out from the Packers/Seahawks game (which will be the culmination of this effort), we wanted to give another status update of our 100-Square Roller Prize Board, which is currently sitting at 69% full.

If you don’t feel comfortable buying a whole $100 square, think about splitting the amount with another person and/or a foursome!

We appreciate all those who have gotten in at this point, as well as those who are still considering helping the course maintain the improvements the greens roller has provided so far this summer. We feel our greens are in the finest condition they have ever been.
